7 Functions of a Janitorial CEO

What gets passed off as leadership in the BSC industry is often nothing more than management practices. Because of this confusion, owners often don't know exactly how they should be spending their time both in and on the business. Should I be selling? Meeting with customers? Designing processes? In this session, we will walk through the 7 key functions of a BSC owner or CEO, giving you a framework through which to view your job.

A High Performing Team Can Make Even YOU Look Good!

Patrick Lencioni said "If you could get all the people in the organization rowing in the same direction, you could dominate any industry, in any market, against any competition, at any time." This session will comprehensively review tactics and procedures I used during my role as CEO of ABS that will allow you to create and maintain a high performing, cohesive team. We will discuss the entire process, but will focus on the development of employees - evaluation, career development, analysis of job descriptions and suitability for their current role, succession planning... and many more!

Balancing the Scorecard

‘Long Term, Sustainable, Growth’ is the goal. You and your team must be motivated to that end. ‘Five key Goals’ must be developed to keep everyone focused on that objective. A key point is developing a balanced scorecard for each team member. So that all are focused on their achievement.
These goals can look like this:

 · Growth in Sales
 · Increasing Profitability
 · Customer Retention (absolute)
 · Continuous Teambuilding
 · Strategic (a little proactivity)

Concentrating on only one or two while ignoring the other shared goals will not result in your achieving the overall goal. A balanced approach must be taken and all the shared goals must be considered simultaneously. This definitely takes determination, but it is possible if you “plan your work, and work your plan.” (Also, create an all-encompassing incentive plan so that you can "pay for results" not just activities.) You cannot manage what you can’t measure. The balance scorecard is a great way to give you that " measuring stick" This workshop will be about how to set those goals, build your matrixes, and manage your goals around your scorecard.

Bidding and Estimating Online Course

  • This four-part course will help you cover the key aspects of bidding and estimating.

  • Part One: Production Rates – In part one, you will learn about the formulas and variables that affect production rates. This will include, but is not limited too, tasks that are normal for a commercial building and the amount of area that is defined in square footage.
  • Part Two: Applying Production Rates – now that you know what production rates are, apply this to your daily work life, also known as workloading. Workloading is applying developed production rates to a building, which will determine the amount of labor necessary to perform the specified cleaning.
  • Part three: Request for Proposals (RFP) – RFP’s have become a commonplace within the industry. While all RFP’s can be slightly different, our subject matter experts (SME’s) suggest that your RFP process follows like so: receive, review and then respond. The SME’s have provided several hands-on examples that require you to complete while following the online course along.
  • Part four: Job Costing – The big question is, how much will this cost? Job costing is a method of recording the costs of the job rather than the process. Walk through another example of how this process is calculated and how you then can apply this to your company.

Productivity Seminar

Quality Control Panel

Technology is in everyone’s daily lives from reading the newspaper, ordering a taxi, booking a flight, or video calling people on the other side of the world. Clients expectations have changed drastically over the past few years, and in a recent survey of 500 business owners, 96% said they are influenced by technology when hiring a cleaning company. This presentation will cover a recent article (see below): "How I won over 80% of my cleaning quotes by showcasing technology" and also focus on removing the stigma around technology. My main competitor is not another software company, it is pen and paper. I don't want to push my company, I want to put people at ease about technology and give them insights about how they can leverage their workforce (who is already trained and using software through social media and other channels) through software. Goals: Help displace the fears/stigma around technology, make it approachable, motivate them to comfortably and confidently search for a solution for themselves, and teach them how to communicate this to clients to better position them for a sale.

Getting past those plateaus can be a challenge, I would present an interactive discussion and presentation on how to break through the wall that seems to be holding our peers back. The presentation would focus on building a company, goal setting, personal and professional growth and so on. I have worked with many franchise owners to build a successful small business. While this session would be geared primarily toward small businesses looking for growth, many of the principles would relate to a business of any size looking to achieve a renewed growth.

Thinking Big, Scaling for Growth

Using Tools and Anlalytics to Measure and Improve Client Retention and Overall Services

Every building service contractor has the same goals: provide great customer service in an effort to retain clients and receive referrals that promote the growth of the business.  Easier said than done!  What happens when a client is repeatedly unhappy with service and there doesn’t seem to be a way to satisfy the client.  Ultimately, if the complaints do not end and the client doesn’t feel that there was an overall improvement, trust is broken and a cancellation is inevitable. How do you stop the cycle of beating yourself up and wondering what happened?

Ways to Improve your Customer's Perception of Quality and Enchance your Relationship

Learn multiple ways to improve your customer’s perception of your cleaning quality. Identify different things you can do to build a strong personal relationship with your key customer contacts. We will also discuss how to use the “successes” that came from developing strong relationships with your existing customers to help you sell and attract new customers. We will discuss how to stay out of the “sales dilemma” of trying to out sell a poor retention percentage.
